DNR enforcement actions

DES MOINES IA (9/28/2018) – DNR staff work with individuals, businesses and communities to help them protect our natural resources by complying with state and federal laws. This approach is very effective. In the few cases where compliance cannot be achieved, the DNR issues enforcement actions. The following list summarizes recent enforcement actions. Consent Orders
A consent order is issued as an alternative to issuing an administrative order. A consent order indicates that the DNR has voluntarily entered into a legally enforceable agreement with the other party.

Warren County

Slavic Illnitsky
Comply with air quality and solid waste requirements and pay $1,000 penalty for open burning and open dumping of solid wastes.

Dickinson County
Whitecap LLC
Cease illegal discharges to waters of the State, comply with NPDES permit, and pay $7,000 penalty.

Plymouth County
David and Thomas Britt
Cease illegal open burning of solid wastes, properly remove all remaining solid waste, and pay $2,000 penalty.
