Sacramento CA (8/16/2021) – Eastern Marketing Corp. (Eastern Marketing) is a Roseland, New Jersey, based company that manufactures miscellaneous refrigeration products, non-commercial refrigerators, and residential exhaust fans. Eastern Marketing sold or offered for sale refrigeration products and residential exhaust fans in California, from July 2015 to April 2021.

This case was the result of an industry complaint. The California Energy Commission’s (CEC) investigation and testing process identified that Eastern Marketing was manufacturing and offering for sale miscellaneous refrigeration products, non-commercial refrigerators, and residential exhaust fans fans that were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Eastern Marketing executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on August 16, 2021, for $46,345.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Eastern Marketing has also agreed to a compliance plan to test and certify all models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
