Husqvarna Professional Products Case Settles for $200,000

Sacramento CA (10/12/2018) – Husqvarna Professional Products, Inc. is a Charlotte, North Carolina based company who sells certain lawn and garden equipment containing small battery charging systems (SBCS). From February 2013 to August 2017, Husqvarna sold or offered for sale various lawn and garden equipment in California.

This case was a result of the ongoing investigative efforts of the California Energy Commission (Energy Commission) staff. The Energy Commission’s investigation and testing process identified Husqvarna offering for sale certain lawn and garden equipment containing small battery charging systems not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDBS).

To settle this matter, Husqvarna executed a Settlement Agreement with the Energy Commission on October 10, 2018, for $200,000.00. The settlement monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley).
