Sacramento CA (7/12/2018) – Mountain Plumbing Products is a Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, Texas, based company who manufactures plumbing fittings. Mountain Plumbing Products sold or offered for sale 7,520 plumbing fittings in California, during the time period of July 2015 to May 2018. This case was the result of an industry complaint. The Energy Commission’s testing and investigation process identified Mountain Plumbing Products manufacturing and offering for sale plumbing fittings that were not marked properly and were not certified to the Appliance Efficiency Database (Database). To settle this matter, Mountain Plumbing Products executed a Settlement Agreement with the Energy Commission on July 6, 2018, for $186,218.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Mountain Plumbing Products has also agreed to a compliance plan to recall all noncompliant products from the California market, add the required marking, and test and certify each basic model before continuing to sell into California.
