DEQ Fines Princeton Property Management $5,800 for Asbestos Violations at NE Portland Apartment Complex

Portland OR (3/11/2015) – The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality fined Princeton Property Management Inc.
$5,800 for allowing unlicensed workers to do an asbestos abatement project and for improperly disposing asbestos-containing waste material in northeast Portland.

In November 2014, the company began a ceiling repair project at its apartment complex at 11177 NE Weidler St. in Portland. The popcorn textured ceiling material contained asbestos. DEQ issued this penalty because the violations could have released asbestos fibers into the air and exposed workers and the public to asbestos.

Princeton Property Management has until March 25 to appeal the penalty.
