Sacramento CA (5/26/2023) – Hunter Industries, Incorporated (Hunter) is a San Marcos, California based company that manufactures landscape irrigation equipment. Hunter sold or offered for sale sprinkler spray bodies in California, from October 2020 to April 2023.

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that Hunter was manufacturing and offering for sale sprinkler spray bodies that were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Hunter executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on May 26, 2023, for $5,755.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Hunter has also agreed to a compliance plan to certify all models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
