Sacramento CA (10/30/2018) – Kitchen Bath Collection (KBC) is a Torrance, California, based company that manufactures kitchen range hoods. KBC sold or offered for sale 961 kitchen range hoods in California, during the time period of July 2015 to September 2018.

This case started as an industry complaint. The Energy Commission’s investigation process identified KBC manufacturing and offering for sale kitchen range hoods not certified to the Modern Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDBS).

To settle this matter, KBC executed a Settlement Agreement with the Energy Commission on October 12, 2018, for $10,570.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). KBC has also agreed to a compliance plan to test and certify each basic model to MAEDBS before continuing to sell into California.
