10/24/2022 –  Kubebath LLC (Kubebath) is a Commerce, California based company that manufactures plumbing fittings. Kubebath sold or offered for sale showerheads and lavatory faucets in California, from July 2018 to July 2022.

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that Kubebath was manufacturing and offering for sale showerheads and lavatory faucets that did not meet the efficiency standard, failed the marking requirement, and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Kubebath executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on October 24, 2022, for $18,373.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Kubebath has also agreed to a compliance plan to discontinue all sales of plumbing fittings in California.
