State of Colorado’s WQCD Reaches Agreement with Beacon Construction LLC to Resolve Permit Violations

Denver, CO (2/25/2021) – The State of Colorado’s Water Quality Control Division today announced a Compliance Order on Consent (“COC”) with Beacon Construction LLC resolving permit violations alleged in a Notice of Violation/Cease and Desist Order (“NOV/CDO”). The NOV/CDO, filed January 6, 2020, alleged that Beacon Construction violated permit requirements at two commercial construction projects, one in Larimer County and one in Weld County. Under the COC, Beacon Construction will pay a $70,000.00 civil penalty, which will be distributed to the State of Colorado’s Water Quality Improvement Fund. Beacon Construction has also completed all required corrective actions and returned to compliance. The COC, filed February 25, 2021, was subject to a 30-day public comment period.
