State of Colorado’s WQCD Reaches Agreement with Thompson Thrift Construction, Inc. to Resolve Permit Violations

Denver, CO (05/19/2021) – The State of Colorado’s Water Quality Control Division today announced a Compliance Order on Consent (“COC”) with Thompson Thrift Construction, Inc. resolving permit violations alleged in a Notice of Violation/Cease and Desist Order (“NOV/CDO”). The NOV/CDO, filed October 23, 2019, alleged that Thompson Thrift Construction violated permit requirements at two residential construction projects, one in Denver County and one in El Paso County. Under the COC, Thompson Thrift Construction will pay a $65,000.00 civil penalty, which will be distributed to the State of Colorado’s Water Quality Improvement Fund. Thompson Thrift Construction has also completed all required corrective actions and returned to compliance. The COC, filed April 6, 2021, was subject to a 30-day public comment period.
