Crescent Metal Products, Inc. (Cres Cor) is a Mentor, Ohio based company that manufactures commercial cooking and refrigeration equipment. Cres Cor sold or offered for sale commercial cooking and refrigeration equipment in California, from July 2015 to June 2022.

This case was the result of a complaint. The California Energy Commission’s (CEC) investigation process identified that Cres Cor was manufacturing and offering for sale commercial cooking and refrigeration equipment that did not meet the efficiency standard and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Cres Cor executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on August 26, 2023, for $150,000.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Cres Cor has also agreed to a compliance plan to discontinue sales of non-compliant models and test and certify all compliant models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
