Sacramento CA (6/1/2023) – C&A Marketing, Inc. (C&A) an Edison, New Jersey based company that manufactures miscellaneous refrigeration products. C&A sold or offered for sale wine and beverage coolers in California, from July 2015 to May 2020.

This case was the result of a complaint. CEC’s investigation process identified that C&A was manufacturing and offering for sale wine and beverage coolers that were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, C&A executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on June 1, 2023, for $98,975.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). C&A has also agreed to a compliance plan to test and certify all models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
