9/13/2022 – Micro-Star International Company LTD (Micro-Star) is a New Taipei City, Taiwan based company that manufactures computers. Micro-Star sold or offered for sale desktop computers in California, from January 2019 to June 2022.

This case was the result of an investigation performed by California Energy Commission (CEC) staff. CEC’s investigation and testing process identified that Micro-Star was manufacturing and offering for sale desktop computers that did not meet the efficiency standard and were not certified to the Modernized Appliance Efficiency Database System (MAEDbS).

To settle this matter, Micro-Star executed a Settlement Agreement with CEC on September 13, 2022, for $275,376.00. The penalty monies are deposited into the Appliance Efficiency Enforcement Subaccount established by SB 454 of 2011 (Pavley). Micro-Star has also agreed to a compliance plan to discontinue sales of non-compliant models in California and certify all compliant models to MAEDbS before continuing to sell in California.
